AC'S GUIDE TO CITY COUNCIL VOTES
Politics can be confusing these days.  In an effort to clear things up, our Political Correspondent offers the following guide so that Albanians can better understand the meaning of the votes cast by members of the City Council.

"
Yea" Most often heard at Cougar Field, in the council chamber this cry means "yes".
"
Nay"  Unless the Council Member is attempting an imitation of a horse at Golden Gate  Fields, this means "no"
"Okay
"  Means, "I want to vote 'no' but I better not if I know what's good for me."
"Abstain" There can be many reasons why a Council member might abstain, and if you ask them, they may tell you.  If they won't tell you, your only other avenue of inquiry would be to find someone who is familiar with abstinence (and this maybe hard because it doesn't seem to be practiced much anymore.).
PROPER HILLSIDE CHAIR PARKING EXPLAINED
After conferring with Berkeley Officials (Berkeley has more hills, and hill expereince than we do) Albany traffic experts have issued an instruction on how to park chairs on a hilly street.  Since coasters on chairs seldom have braking systems, if parked on its wheels, the chair can easily roll down to the next intersection and cause an accident. The proper way to park them is illustrated above.  Be sure to use this method when you move your chairs once a month for street sweeping.
TAFT SINK HOLE REPAIRED AT LAST!!!!!
Yes, after roughly three months, the hole was filled. (see earlier article on this subject)  The date of the repair was clearly marked on it so that neighbors would be reminded to hold their block party each year on this date.  And also for the benefit of the Albany Historical Society which records significant events of historical interest.
